Vote FOR the Kerrville ISD Bond on November 6!

Dear Kerrville ISD Parent,

In an effort to support you and the district, a group of citizens has come together to form Kerrville Together for Kids because we believe in strong public schools and in KISD. In addition, we believe the KISD November 2018 Bond proposal is the right plan at the right time.

The KISD school bond package is critical to providing safe, excellent learning environments for our children and sustaining a thriving school district that families and businesses want to call home. It’s a comprehensive plan that touches every campus addressing safety and security, aging infrastructure, handicap accessibility upgrades, as well as a replacement school for Hal Peterson Middle School.

The students of Kerrville ISD need this bond to pass, and you can play a big role in making that happen. Let your voices be heard!

Like and share our Facebook page—“Kerrville Together for Kids.” We encourage you to partake in the conversation and share with the community why you are supporting this bond.

Make a contribution, pass out flyers, share information with family, friends and neighbors, and most importantly, join us in making a difference in the lives of all our students by voting FOR the Kerrville ISD bond on Tuesday, November 6, 2018!

Sincerely,
Kerrville Together for Kids

This bond package includes district-wide safety measures such as controlled entry vestibules, security lighting and cameras, lock-down hardware, additional fencing and updated fire alarm systems. Additionally, almost every campus will receive accessibility upgrades such as ramps, signage and specific door hardware to become compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Keeping in mind the age of our buildings and the upkeep required to make sure they’re running as efficiently as possible, this bond proposal includes system and facility updates to all campuses, addressing roofing, flooring, mechanical systems, lighting, plumbing and energy management. These life-cycle upgrades are not only necessary but will also allow the district to realize maintenance cost savings.

Built over 50 years ago, the current Hal Peterson Middle School has safety, accessibility and infrastructure issues due to age. Building a new campus on Veterans Hwy is not only a smart decision for our students, it's a the right move financially. The projected cost to renovate the existing facility is 80-85% the value to construct new! Similarly, a new ag barn for our district will provide our students and their animals with the facilities and equipment they deserve.
